An academic approach to modern cars may seem a little bit of a reach but this book here approaches the newer technologies and all the modern rigmarole with an excellent eye towards how little us old-fashioned “car fixers” actually know about the more modern versions.
Where so many of us see the old ways as superior, what this author gives us is a straightforward view of what makes the more modern units more adaptable and even superior in so many ways – and, more importantly – why. Explanations regarding all that plastic and all those wires and things become more understandable, by far. I loved reading this straightforward explanation of modern cars and their technology. It is written for the novice, I hasten to add, as a textbook in fact. I stumbled across it and am delighted I did.
